The employees have announced they are walking off the job in support of the antiquities sites guards whose temporary contracts have ended. The guards have remained on the job as they are contesting their dismissals in the courts. The workers union is calling on the Culture Ministry to immediately proceed to all necessary actions to rehire the contract workers.
