MSN_6572_EasyJet250_StartA_08Low cost airline easyJet on Thursday announced a new summer route from London Stansted to Zakynthos, aka Zante, starting May 28. The new route will fly once a week, every Saturday.

“Greece is an important market for easyJet, where we plan to take up to 2.3 million passengers this year”, easyJet’s route manager, Dimitris Schinas, said.

During the summer season, easyJet will also connect Zakynthos to London Gatwick, Bristol and Liverpool in the UK and Malpensa in Italy. With a total of five routes, easyJet will  increase seat capacity by 10 percent compared to last year.

“Zakynthos is known throughout Europe for its amazing beaches and small coastal towns, which make it very popular among passengers throughout Europe”, Mr Schinas added.

This summer, easyJet has included six new routes in its network to/from Greece: Santorini – Venice, Mykonos – Venice, Amsterdam – Rhodes, Mykonos – Lyon and Mykonos – Nice, reaching a total of 71 routes.
