Event News Eilat, Israel: Partner Region of MITT 2016 by GTP editing team 15 February 2016 written by GTP editing team 15 February 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 Eilat, Israel’s southernmost city, has signed an agreement to become an official Partner Region of the Moscow’s International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT) 2016, the leading event in Russia to conduct business with key members of the travel trade. MITT 2016 will take place in Moscow, Russia, during March 23 – 26, 2016, at the Expocentre. Known as the “City of the Red Sea”, Eilat lies on the northern tip of the Rea Sea — an inlet of the Indian Ocean. The city’s beaches, coral reef, nightlife and desert landscapes make it a popular destination for domestic and international tourism. The city boosts an array of accommodation options, from hostels for budget travellers through to 4- 5-star hotels. To cater for Russian tourists, several hotels have recently expressed that they will be offering an “all inclusive” option in the near future. Attractions include Masada, a historical landmark and archaeological site. The area is a World Heritage Site and a popular attraction. The rugged fortress is one of the most visited locations in Israel. Travelling to Masada provides an opportunity to soak in the Dead Sea — known for its mineral-rich black mud used for therapeutic and cosmetic treatments. In regards to travel, more flight routes from Russia to Eilat are opening up, making the city more accessible. At the end of 2015, the Israeli Tourism Ministry offered a financial incentive of 45 euros (for every passenger) to aviation companies and tour operators operating direct flights. It is expected that as a result of the campaign, 100 new flights will land in Eilat during the next few months. Coral, Anez and ICS are operators who have scheduled direct flights from Russia to Eilat. Russian tour agencies and travellers can find out more about Eilat at MITT 2016. The city will exhibit their travel packages in Pavilion 2.1 at the Israel national stand. To find out more, press here. The Greek Travel Pages (GTP) is a media partner of MITT.
