Trade Associations - Gov Greece: Renewal of Hotel Sector’s National Collective Agreement by GTP editing team 16 February 2016 written by GTP editing team 16 February 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 A new national collective agreement for workers in Greece’s hotel industry was signed on Tuesday between the Hellenic Federation of Hoteliers (POX) and the Panhellenic Federation of Catering Workers and Tourist Profession Employees. The new agreement is valid for two years, from January 1, 2016 until December 31 2017. Among the provisions is a monthly minimum wage of 761 euros for hotel workers, as well as a one percent raise from April 1, 2017. This is the third industry-wide collective agreement signed by both sides since 2012, which maintains all the benefits and institutional safeguards of the previous agreements. “This is another very important step in the collective effort to shield the working conditions in the hotel industry, as opposed to the general climate of sweeping changes and upheavals in labor relations in our country in the last 5 years”, POX President Yiannis Retsos said. He added that Greek hoteliers and employees are showing the way of understanding that all should follow for the necessary restart of the economy and for the country to return to development.
