Turkish Airlines was honored on Thursday as the “Best of the Top 10 Performance” and the “Fastest Growing Airline for Western Europe” of 2015 at the 16th Airline Marketing Workshop, organized by Athens International Airport (AIA). AIA honored airlines that recorded the highest increases in passenger numbers on their scheduled flights to and from Athens in 2015. According to Turkish Airlines, the year of 2015 could be described as the milestone for the carrier’s activity in Greece. “We believe and invest in Greece. Our goal is to become the country’s strategic partner in the tourism industry”, Alp Yavuzeser, General Manager of Turkish Airlines to Athens, said. The company noted an important annual overall increase of 25 percent in Greece and in total for 2015, transferred more than 500.000 passengers, more than any other year. “We feel that with our own strengths and efforts, we also took part in the excellent touristic season for Greece, and also in the mood of the Greeks to travel to many international destinations, where the company offers the best solution. Those awards certify that Turkish Airlines is in the correct path to fulfill its goals.” In addition, through its wide network of 235 international destinations in 113 countries, Turkish Airlines worked as a bridge for the Greek diaspora all over the world, an important and active part of Greece, but also for business and commercial travelers, allowing them to easily reach partners and new business opportunities.
