The glitzy awards ceremony, hosted by Greek presenters Mary Synatsaki and Dimitris Ougarezos, will take place in the Banquet Hall of the Megaron Athens Concert Hall on Wednesday, April 6. In its third year, the Tourism Awards will once again identify, highlight and reward the best practices and the most innovative initiatives across the tourism industry in Greece. During the ceremony, honorary awards will be given to acclaimed Greek director and actor Christopher Papakaliatis for promoting Greece through the movie “Another World”; to Classical Archaeology Professor Dr Stephen Miller for his contribution to the country’s archaeological tourism; to Yiorgos Pittas for his contribution to Greek gastronomy and tourism; to Sofia Kalantidou and Nikos Sarantos for their contribution to Greek gastronomy; and to the volunteers of the City of Athens’ program “This is My Athens”. The Tourism Awards 2016 are organized by Boussias Communications and Hotel & Restaurant magazine and held under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). Those who were unable to book a seat in the Banquet Hall of the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, can catch the ceremony via live streaming.
