Event News Social Media Meet Tells Greek Tourism Pros How to Make or Break a Brand by GTP editing team 12 April 2016 written by GTP editing team 12 April 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 It’s all about content, more content and good content… that was the key finding of the Social Media in Tourism 2016 conference, which took place on Monday, at the Center of Sustainable Entrepreneurship Excelixi. International media experts Peter Minkjan (Facebook), Michael Kessler (ReviewPro), Vincent Ramelli (Wihp Hotels), Kaspar Strandskov (CEO Engineroom) and Nigel Camp (DevilBoy Productions) all agreed that content should be the number one priority when aiming to get the product out on the market and to win over the crowds. Speaking to tourism professionals, the media experts added that planning, targeting and then responding were also main points to look into. Hoteliers in particular should make it a policy to answer as soon as possible to customer questions or queries as it can save the day and spare them of a bad review. Additional tips included the significance of engaging clients, making them feel special and steering clear of complex, long and tedious Facebook posts. The idea, according to the experts, is to be short and sweet, engaging, inclusive, and fun. The day event concluded with an hour-long workshop on creating professional videos with the use of a smartphone and the bare essentials in lighting and sound.
