Whether it’s about hosting Bollywood productions or promising some of the world’s most breathtaking beaches, Mykonos and Milos are set to capture the hearts and minds of Indian travelers following a presentation of Greek tourism offerings in Mumbai last week.

Jointly organized by Emirates, Signature Travel and MTC Group, the two-day event included presentations by Mykonos Tourism Committee chairwoman and city counsellor Tonia Andronikou and Milos Municipality representative Anthony Mallis. Ms Andronikou discussed ways to attract Bollywood productions to Mykonos, where in 2012 Jodi Breakers was filmed, while Signature Travel’s CEO Maria Alifrangi made special mention of the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) latest TV spot.

During the event, fedΗΑΤΤΑ representative Vassilis Kontos presented the Dodeka project which borrows inspiration from the 12 Gods of Greek mythology for the promotion of Greece as a year-round tourist destination. The event also included meetings between Greek delegates and more than 100 Indian tour operators, local media as well as luxury travel magazine editors. Interest was so great, the organizers said they would soon announce a fam trip in Greece so that Indian media representatives can see Greek offerings for themselves and get the word out.

The promotional event came to close with a presentation of Emirates’ Βoeing 777-300 currently servicing Greece.
