Pioneering Greeks – Zafiris Trikalinos, CEO of Trikalinos Bottarga

This week we introduce Zafiris Trikalinos, CEO of Trikalinos Bottarga. Since 1856, the Trikalinos family began making their own Bottarga. Specifically, Zafiris, Nikos and George dived in the waters of the Aitolikos and created the first Bottarga with their own signature.

Ever since then they made a deal to always use the highest quality roe — no other than the grey mullet roes — and aim towards a unique gastronomic experience for anyone that tastes their product.

Based on these values, the heirs of Trikalinos Bottarga kept up the family tradition but evolved even further into making it one of the most renowned delicacies of our time.

Trikalinos Bottarga has been repeatedly honored in global gastronomy events and is proudly included in the suggestions, as well as the cook books, of some of the most famous chefs in the world (such as the Spanish Ferrian Adria and Roca Brothers) as a delicacy that combines a balanced taste, high quality and benefits for our health.

Inspired by the dynamism and creativity of the Greek entrepreneurial spirit, LoveGreece was founded in 2013 as an initiative to boost and promote the country’s image abroad by profiling talented and successful Greeks.
