Featuring some of the finest boats on the market, the 15th East Med Yacht Show, to be held at the popular Marina Zea in Piraeus, on May 13-18, promises to get you on a boat and fast, sailing the Greek islands. More than 60 craft including motor yachts, sailing yachts, catamarans and bareboats, as well as experts and yachting lovers will be on hand to talk about the latest trends and products. Greek chartering companies, travel agents and shipbrokers as well as businesses providing services in marine tourism will also be participating in the event. The six-day happening is organized by the Hellenic Professional Yacht Owners Association (EPEST) and the Hellenic Yacht Brokers Association (HYBA), in collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA), the Greek Professional Bare Boat Owners Association and the Greek Economic Forum. The 15th East Med Yacht Show, under the auspices of the Shipping and Island Policy Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the Region of Attica, Piraeus Municipality and the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), is open to the public and aims to promote the options available in Greek sea tourism. This celebration is expected to attract thousands of visitors to Piraeus, placing our city and campaign ‘Destination Piraeus’ in the spotlight and paving the way for the ‘Sea Days 2016, Go Piraeus!’ events (May 28),” Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis told a press conference this week. Other issues raised during the press conference were taking measures to ensure the construction of yachts at Greek shipyards as well as for the targeted promotion of Greece’s marine tourism.
