The fam trip, which took place April 13-18, comprised 15 representatives of leading tour operators and travel agencies of the UAE. The group was accompanied by a journalist from the daily English language newspaper published in UAE, Khaleej Times. In Athens, the guests were hosted for three days in the centrally located luxury hotel Grande Bretagne. Their stay included visits to the Acropolis, Sounion and Plaka and tours of the facilities of 20 hotels in the center and southern suburbs of the Greek capital. Next came a three-day stay on the island of Santorini. There, the UAE travel professionals experienced the popular island’s tourism product — the natural beauty of the Caldera of Oia, Akrotiri, etc. — through tours and yachting. The program also included tours to 10 renowned hotels of Fira. The group was hosted the luxury complex Mystique. The six-day fam trip was sponsored by Gulf Air and Aegean Airlines. By inviting key industry decision-makers from emerging markets such as UAE to experience Greece first hand, Travel Plan is aiming to increase the number of visitors and events hosted in the country. The company is expected this year to continue with such initiatives. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
