Culture Show Time for Greece’s National Museum of Contemporary Art by GTP editing team 11 May 2016 written by GTP editing team 11 May 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 9 A former brewery, Greece’s National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) will welcome its first visitors on May 19, commemorating International Museum Day with a series of events, exhibitions, shows and interactive happenings. On May 19, the EMST will feature a performance of “Lagune” by Swiss artist Denis Savary, in cooperation with the Fluxum Foundation and Flux Laboratory, marking at the same time 100 years since the formation of the Dada art movement. Photo credit © Daphné Bengoa The EMST will celebrate European Music Day on June 21 with events in and around the museum, including a concert at the Sygrou-Fix metro station by National Opera students, contemporary music and dance projects as well as a concert featuring excerpts from operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. Come October, the EMST will jointly host an exhibition with the Flemish Museum of Contemporary Art through to January 2017 as part of its “EMST Around the World” series. And finally, in November, the EMST will organize a children’s event in collaboration with publishing house Melissa inviting youngsters to create their own short 3- to 5-minute films inspired by the tale of “Young Charlotte the Directrice”.
