With a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, Messinia-based luxury resort Costa Navarino will soon be the first Greek tourism enterprise to join the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and report on sustainability issues affecting the region.

Messinia_Gialova Lagoon2Costa Navarino is currently carrying out relevant research with local authorities in the Messinia prefecture, environmental protection groups and media with a goal to become the first Greece-based tourism enterprise to report sustainability guidelines of the GRI. G4 findings for the 2015 period will be presented next month in a series of special events.

The GRI is an international independent organization that helps businesses, governments and other organizations communicate the impact of business on sustainability issues such as climate change, human rights and corruption. The GRI’s Sustainability standards are reported in over 90 countries and provide the world’s most widely used standards on sustainability.
