Russian travel professionals that participated in the recent Greek-Russian tourism forum in Athens heard over 12 reasons on why they should develop partnerships with Greek travel agencies. Entitled “Russia and Greece: realities and prospects of cooperation in tourism”, the forum, organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and Russia’s Federal Agency for Tourism “Rostourism”, was held to establish a strong connection between the two countries in order to increase mutual tourist flow. Among the speeches at the forum was that of the head of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (fedHATTA), Lysandros Tsilidis, who presented 12 and more reasons why Russian professionals should team up with Greek travel agents. fedHATTA President Lysandros Tsilidis Based on the federation’s tourism action plan “Dodeka” (which translates into “twelve”), Mr Tsilidis gave a presentation which included the action’s 12 main sections — Active Tour, ARTtour, Authentic Tradition Tour, Cult Tour, DayNight Tour, Food & Wine Tour, Greece NAtour, Green Greece, Meeting Greece, Pilgrimage Tour, Plefsis Tour and Wellness Tour — and gave Russian professionals ideas for travel packages in Greece. Travel agencies/members of fedHATTA from all over Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Pieria, Zakynthos, Cyclades, etc.) that specialize in the Russian market took part in the forum. fedHATTA board member, Yiorgos Paliouras During the forum, fedHATTA board member, Yiorgos Paliouras, gave a presentation on the dynamic development of the Greek cruise market and invited Russian travel professionals to cooperate with Greek entrepreneurs by taking advantage of “one of the most modern and rapidly developing tourist services worldwide”.
