Company updates Aegean Brings Passengers ‘Closer to Greece’ with New Initiative by GTP editing team 17 May 2016 written by GTP editing team 17 May 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 AEGEAN has launched a new initiative named “Closer to Greece”, aiming to tell the world why each of the country’s destinations are so unique. Every month, in cooperation with local producers, the company will dedicate all Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air flights — domestic and international — to one or more Greek destinations and treat passengers to images, colors, flavors and aromas from all over Greece. On international flights and more specifically in Business Class, for example, an extra menu option, based on the recipes of each destination, will be available and accompanied by a local wine. The campaign also includes the on board showing of local tribute videos, filmed by Aegean, so that more passengers have the opportunity to “travel” and discover the charming beauty, the flavors and the welcoming locals of each destination. Traditional local products of the destination or destinations of the month will be served in all Aegean’s lounges. This month: Lesvos The initiative has already been launched and Lesvos is the first destination to be introduced to domestic and international travellers. Until the end of May, all passengers will get an authentic taste of the island through traditional products prepared by local producers and cooperatives, such as Plomari ouzo, Castanelli liqueur, Methymneos wine, ladotyri cheese, marmalades, ouzo/anise-flavored cookies, savory cookies, ergolavoi desserts, marzipan desserts and olive-pies. “This initiative is further proof of the strong commitment of AEGEAN to support and develop Greek regions both through the offering of an extensive domestic network and through the implementation of actions that are beneficial for the local economies and societies”, the airline said in an announcement.
