With Samsung as our ‘ally’, the museum’s scientific work is now shared with the public in a creative and innovative way,” said Acropolis Museum President Dimitrios Pandermalis. Thanks to Samsung Electronics, the Museum can now host educational programs aimed at primary and high school students through interactive technology, computers, tablets and a tech-based 20-hour training curriculum. Only four such classes are currently in operation across Europe: at the British Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Gallerie dell’ Accademia Museum in Spain, and at the Grigore Antipa National History Museum in Romania. Besides the ongoing “Olympia Riddles” course, aimed at familiarizing elementary school students with the symbols and attributes of the Olympian gods, the program is accompanied by a handicraft workshop entitled “Create Your Own God” and is completed with an interactive educational game which takes place in the digital classroom. “We are proud of our collaboration with the Acropolis Museum and the opportunity to enhance the digital experience of the museum’s young friends. The Acropolis Museum, the cradle of culture and history, now offers a contemporary and innovative educational experience utilizing cutting-edge technology and new media,” said Samsung Electronics Hellas President, Kyoungil Min.
