Air Travel Experts Say EgyptAir Flight Fragments Found in Mediterranean by GTP editing team 16 June 2016 written by GTP editing team 16 June 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 13 Wreckage of EgyptAir Flight MS804 which disappeared from radars half an hour before its scheduled landing in Cairo last month killing 66 people on board seems to have been identified in the Mediterranean Sea by a survey vessel, Egypt’s investigators said on Wednesday. Deep sea vessel the John Lethbridge has been scouring the sea bed at depths of up to 3,000m for debris and flight data recorders. The Egyptian investigation committee said it “had identified several main locations of the wreckage”, with some fragments found between Crete and north of Alexandria. Investigators said the next step will be to draw up a map showing the wreckage location while continuing to search for the fatal flight’s data and cockpit voice recorders. The cause of the crash still remains a mystery with authorities not ruling out terrorism, human or technical error. The search has thus far produced body parts, luggage, life vests, personal items and debris in the Mediterranean Sea, and two weeks ago, French ship the Laplace detected signals.
