That’s when Greece’s largest tourism sector event, the joint Philoxenia – Hotelia fair, opens its doors to professionals and public at the TIF-Helexpo center in the northern port city of Thessaloniki. The annual trade show brings together local tourism professionals from the hospitality and services sectors offering a ground of exchange through a series of events including the Branding Destinations conference, B2B workshops, happenings, the DPOINT Hotel Village and “Τhe Art of Drinking Coffee & Spirit” initiative, which each year draws in the crowds with its secrets on creating the finest and most innovative coffees, cocktails and drinks. The 32nd Philoxenia and Hotelia invite hosted buyers – tour operators, MICE, media and corporate representatives to do business. Last year’s fair reported a 17 percent increase in participation with the number of foreign buyers up by 39 percent for Philoxenia and 78 percent for Ηotelia. A total of 107 guests from 32 countries including Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Egypt, Albania, the Philippines, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Indonesia, Cyprus and the Czech Republic made more than 3,000 scheduled B2B appointments with exhibitors to discuss tourism-related issues and pave the way for future collaborations.
