Topics to be covered include the importance of the olive grove as part of a living ecosystem; olive oil and nutrition; olive oil: from field to the shelf; factors affecting the quality of olive oil; and olive oil as the foundation of the Mediterranean Diet.

Organized by the Ermioni Municipality in collaboration with the Peloponnese Region, the festival kicks off on Saturday at Kranidi’s central Repouli Square with presentations, tastings, exhibitions and concerts.

Greek songsmith Dionysis Savvopoulos performs on Saturday evening and the event comes to a close on Sunday with a jazz concert.

The seaside town of Kranidi is 8km west of Ermioni, 28km south of Epidaurus and 38km southeast of Nafplio.
