It’s no secret that Aldemar Resorts on the island of Crete are where celebrities chose to spend their moments of respite. And this year could be no different with Russia’s renowned cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko returning to the five-star Aldemar Royal Mare Luxury & Thalasso Resort for some fun in the Greek sun.

Together with his wife and daughter, Mr Malenchenko had the chance to take a break from his strict routine and receive customized rehabilitation treatment at Aldemar’s award-winning Thalasso & Spa Center, set up by his medical team in collaboration with the center’s qualified supervisors.

Meanwhile, the cosmonaut and his family visited the island’s major attractions, enjoyed local cuisine, explored the beautiful landscapes and were treated to traditional Cretan hospitality during a special tour of Crete organized by the Hersonissos Municipality.

Other activities on the astronaut’s agenda included a wide variety of sports including tennis at the Royal Mare Court.

Founded in 1977, Aldemar is one of the leading hotel chains in Greece, with a total 5,500-bed capacity and 1,800 employees. The Aldemar Group has been at the forefront of thalassotherapy in Greece for more than 16 years, offering wellness holidays of the highest quality while retaining its position as one of the leading thalasso spa centers in the world.
