Travelife is joining the two-day international event in Ljubljana to support its key mission “to promote a brighter, more connected and sustainable future in tourism”. Sören Stöber, Travelife Commercial Director will participate in a panel discussion on the benefits of sustainability certification for the industry. Travelife will host a “green hospitality” workshop in which Travelife certified hotels will share their sustainability experiences and how they have benefitted from certification. Travelife will also sponsor a “Green Tourism Lab” networking space, a unique opportunity to exchange stories and ideas. As the chosen sustainable tourism certification to achieve partner status to support the event, Travelife will be recognised alongside leading experts in sustainable development and green tourism. A programme of speakers includes opinion leaders, representatives of destinations, associations, hoteliers and tour operators who drive for sustainable development in tourism. “This is a fantastic opportunity for Travelife for Hotels to engage with a destination where demand for sustainable tourism is growing and the government and international bodies are working together to ensure the tourism development is planned well”, said Stöber. “Travelife welcomes the opportunity to partner with Global Green Destinations Day. It is a great opportunity to discuss with hotels in this region how to further implement sustainability initiatives into their operations.” Urša Malovrh, Hotel Manager of Hotel Park Ljubljana in Slovenia, who will present at Travelife’s green hospitality workshop said: “By joining the Travelife certification scheme we accepted the need to improve our hotel operations and make them more sustainable. By attending Global Green Destinations Day, we will encourage all other hotels in Slovenia to join the Travelife scheme.” Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
