Youngsters had a chance to learn more about the Cretan vineyard, the planting process, how to care for it, as well as about vineyard products during the “Kids’ Planting” event held on July 29. “Vine-Cooking”, an interactive cooking class on the Cretan vineyard followed with participants visiting the resort vineyard, collecting vine leaves, and then preparing traditional recipes. August 23 focused on “Wine Tasting” with sampling of local wines accompanied by traditional Cretan delicacies. The Futouris project focuses on building structures for the development of a sustainable holiday destination, protecting and meeting the needs of local residents and on the promotion of the wine and cultural heritage of the island. A Metaxas Group company, Creta Maris Beach Resort will continue to organize events under the Futouris umbrella, including the upcoming “Traditional Cretan Harvest” offering guests the chance to take part in the harvest and pressing of the grapes.
