“Dinner in the Sky”, an extraordinary culinary proposal in the center of Athens, on October 5 will say farewell for the winter, after having offered the most unique and special meals — at a height of 50 meters — to over 3,000 visitors from over 72 countries.

Dinner_Sky_AthensThe unique concept of “Dinner in the Sky” which is a cross between fine dining and extreme fun kicked off last year for the first time in Greece and to date has managed to win impressions of both Athenians and visitors of the Greek capital.

“This year, 10 marriage proposals, dozens of birthdays, many guests with a fear of heights that had a wonderful time, fellow students from Rio in Brazil that accidentally met at the same table after many years and many more endless moments of joy and excitement took place and will remain unforgettable”, said Alexandros Papadopoulos from Dinner in the Sky Greece.

“Dinner in the Sky” is literally what its title states: A table that seats 22 people is lifted 50 meters and offers an exciting experience over the city.  As the table slowly rotates, the restaurant guests get views ranging from the lit Acropolis, the surrounding mountains, the sea and of course the city of Athens. The concept includes experienced chefs that prepare a 5 course menu of modern tastes inspired by Greek tradition and accompanied by delicious Greek wines.

Many corporate events were held this year under the “Dinner in the Sky” concept.

This season, over 66,000 dinner plates were prepared and served by Dinner in the Sky’s Chef Ioanna Kardasi and the team of Deipnosofistirion Catering. In addition, over 1,500 bottles of white, red and rosé Oreinos Ilios Semeli wine were consumed and guests quenched their thirst with Vikos soft drinks and water.

In April, “Dinner in the Sky” was honored with the Bronze Tourism Award for its unique restaurant concept in the Gastronomy category.

For those that haven’t lived the experience of “Dinner in the Sky” yet, they still have a chance until October 5. For more information press here.
