Creta Mari Beach Resort Evacuation DrillStaff members and guests took part in an evacuation drill, enacting a virtual scenario, at the Creta Maris Beach Resort, in Hersonissos, Crete, on Tuesday, for the fifth year in a row.

The resort conducted a drill based on the scenario of an earthquake that was followed by an explosion from a gas leak and a fire breakout in various areas of the resort. The scenario included the collapse of a section of the internal walls and injured people.

The exercise lasted a total of 37 minutes and was supervised by Professor Efthimios Lekkas from the Geology and Geoenvironment Department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The aim of the drill was to confirm the excellent preparedness of the resort’s fire safety team to ensure the safety of guests and staff in case of an emergency.
