Greek air traffic controllers are to begin four 24-hour rolling strikes on Sunday in protest over new legislation regarding a restructuring of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority. Specifically, the air traffic controllers will strike on Sunday (October 9), Monday (October 10), Wednesday (October 12) and Thursday (October 13) from 00:01 until 23:59. On those days no flights will run in or out of Greece. AEGEAN and Olympic Air will cancel all domestic and international flights which were due to operate on Sunday and Monday and reschedule and cancel flights due to operate on Saturday, October 8. AEGEAN will release another announcement for the flights that will be affected on 11 to 13 October. Sky Express announced that it will cancel all flights for Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Ryanair will cancel four flights (three international and one domestic) on Saturday night and all flights — 106 in total — to/from and within Greece on Sunday. The airline said that more cancellations and delays will take place on Monday. Passengers should seek further information from their airlines regarding their booked flights.
