China is at the center of this year’s focus with a seminar titled “Outbound Tourism from China: (Almost) Everything You Ever Wanted to Know”. The 32nd Philoxenia brings sector professionals from major overseas markets and is held together with the Hotelia show, featuring the latest in hotel equipment, design, construction, renovation, decoration, supplies, energy-saving upgrades and other hospitality-related facilities. In efforts to meet the challenges and increasing demands of the sector, organizers have enhanced the “Philoxenia Hosted Buyers” program, which is expected to bring some 120 major tourism professionals to Greece for scheduled meetings with local market players. In the meantime, the “[Re]Branding Destinations: Image Making” event will run on the sidelines of Philoxenia and will explore new destinations and branding strategies. And to pique the interest of participants, organizers this year are introducing “Philoxenia Happenings”, which will take place throughout the fair and will include mini festivities complete with food sampling, music and dance.
