According to an announcement, the Irish carrier carried over 1 million US citizens across Europe during the 2016 summer season, a 50 percent rise on summer 2015. Ryanair said that its dedicated US website, which enables flight bookings to be made in dollars, recorded record bookings as more customers than ever chose its low fares to “interplane” between European countries. California residents flew most with Ryanair, followed by citizens of New York, Florida, Illinois and Texas, while the most popular routes booked by Americans were Dublin-Edinburgh, Athens-Santorini, Barcelona-Rome, Frankfurt Hahn-London Stansted and Dublin-Amsterdam.
