Organized by the University of the Aegean with the support of the Rural Development and Food ministry, the South Aegean Region and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the three-day event brings together academics, researchers, wine industry representatives, tourism professionals, and stakeholders to discuss issues related to wine tourism development and to promote dialogue and exchange of good practices. In view of the present-day challenges and increasing tourist demands calling for new priorities and alternative models, the meeting will examine enotourism as a “special interest” tourism product which focuses on experience and includes vineyard visits, wine festivals or exhibitions and tastings. The IMIC will also explore marketing and wine tourism development strategies while recording the contemporary research trends. For more information on the IMIC 2016, press here.
