KYDON ANEK LINESANEK Lines, active in coastal shipping for half a century, expressed its support to actions and initiatives that will improve and strengthen the future of coastal shipping in Greece during a day event on “Designing the Coastal Shipping Network” held recently at the company’s conference center in Chania, Crete.

Gathering experts of the field, professionals, industry associations, local and regional authorities as well as private enterprises, the event focused on ways to redesign the shipping network and port infrastructure, the results for 2016,  reaching out to remote island communities and meeting transportation needs there, the challenges ahead as well as plans to improve the services rendered.

The event, which was inaugurated by Shipping and Island Policy Minister Thodoris Dritsas, laid the groundwork for the re-design of the country’s coastal shipping network and the reform of the institutional framework in order to come up with the best possible solutions to current issues and to further improve the quality of Greek ferry services.
