The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) announced on Tuesday a call for interest in 10 air routes to remote areas in Greece for the April 1, 2017 – March 31, 2021 period.

In efforts to ensure efficient airline service to remote islands and contribute to regional development, the aviation authority invites interested EU carriers to bid for the operation of the following 10 regular air services without financial compensation: Thessaloniki – Corfu; Thessaloniki – Skyros; Alexandroupolis – Sitia, Crete; Aktio – Sitia; Corfu – Aktio – Kefalonia – Zakynthos; Limnos – Mytilini – Chios – Samos – Rhodes; Rhodes – Kos – Kalymnos – Leros – Astypalaia; Athens – Milos; Athens – Naxos; and Athens – Sitia.

Should there be lack of interest by October 31st, the HCAA will proceed in two months’ time with a tender for the operation of the air routes for the April 1, 2017 – March 31, 2021 period with financial compensation.

The call of interest can be for one or more of the the above routes.
