Like NO Other”, at the Best City Awards 2016 ceremony held recently in Athens by Boussias Communications. Marietta Papavasileiou, Vice Governor of Tourism for the Region of South Aegean and Kostas Triantafyllis, project manager of Marketing Greece, receiving the gold Best City Award. Aiming to highlight the best practices carried out in Greek cities, the awards honored innovative projects that improve the quality of urban life and contribute to a viable economic development. Awards were received by public sector bodies, businesses and organisations that excelled in various sectors such as innovation, the environment and accessibility. The South Aegean Region was applauded for its “Aegean Islands. Like NO Other” campaign and received the top prize in the “Portal A “Livable City-Category Tourism”. Since its launch, the “Aegean Islands. Like NO Other” campaign has revealed numerous experiences and images of visitors of the Aegean islands to over 26 million social media users and visitors of the campaign’s website. “We will continue the same strategy dynamically in 2017, evolving our digital campaign and inviting everyone to experience unique – ‘like no other’ – moments on our islands”, said Marietta Papavasileiou, Vice Governor of Tourism for the Region of South Aegean, when receiving the award. The South Aegean Region launched the “Aegean Islands. Like NO Other” campaign in collaboration with the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) and Marketing Greece.
