‘Bring on the Rum’ at 1st Athens Rum Festival!

It’s all about rum, rum, rum… at the 1st Athens Rum Festival to take place on November 6-7 at the Zappeion Conference and Exhibition Center in central Athens.

It’s rum in all its glory at a series of events that promise to keep you on your toes and a tad intoxicated with the fun. Events include tastings, exhibits, masterclasses, seminars, as well as an art happening titled Rum Art Project with artists drawing inspiration from the much loved spirit and creating artsy bottles of rum.

Rum manufacturers will be on the spot to promote their products and events include rum classifying depending on production manner and style, presented by bartender Nikos Arvanitis, who brings his extensive experience from such “rum-filled” spots as Barbados and the West Indies to the festival.

Blogger Peter Holland – behind popular rum blog “The Floating Rum Shack” – will be on the spot to talk about his World of Rum – A view in defence of the average rum drinker! (the event is in English).

Other events include Zacapa rum as an aperitif or digestive: dining beyond borders; Appleton Estate 21 years old tasting; rum & chocolate matching; exotic cocktails, rum and the cult of Tiki… and much more.
