The numbers do speak for themselves: 15,000 klm of coastline, 190,000 bays and coves, 6,000 islands and countless beaches. However, the numbers do not speak of the breathtaking shades of blue, the unique light that shines in our country, the world renowned hospitality of the Greek people and the cultural treasures to be found at each and every destination. These can only be truly appreciated when they are experienced. One of the best ways to discover the glories of Greece is by cruising through its waters. Waters that are untroubled by extreme weather phenomena such as hurricanes and that are free of hostile marine life. Waters that are calm and extremely safe as, due to the plethora of islands, land is never really out of sight and reach. The weather is favorable, with limited rainfall during the summer, and the charter season covers close to 6 months. The natural scenery is stunning ranging from the jaw dropping caldera in Santorini to the pine forested peninsulas in Zakynthos. Apart from being an exceptional cruising ground, Greece also offers a wide range of choices when it comes to yachting. The yachting industry is one of growing importance for Greek tourism and, over the past few years, the Greek charter fleet has grown with bigger and better quality yachts appearing on the market. The level of services provided on board is of the highest international standards and can accommodate even the most demanding of guests. Simply said, Greece is a yachting enthusiast’s definition of paradise. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
