Event News MasterChef France Comes to Greece for Culinary Experience by GTP editing team 14 November 2016 written by GTP editing team 14 November 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 11 Greek cuisine will star in a 20-page feature to run in the first printed edition of the French television series “MasterChef”, an announcement by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) said on Monday. The publication is scheduled to circulate in March 2017 and the president of the GNTO, Dimitris Tryfonopoulos, has given his approval for the MasterChef editorial team to come to Greece on a familiarization trip for research purposes. From November 15 until November 23, the publication’s editor in chief, journalist and photographer will visit Thessaloniki, Athens and Kea to experience Greece’s cuisine first hand. The fam trip will kick off from Thessaloniki (November 15-17) and continue on to Athens and Kea until November 23. During the week-long fam trip, the MasterChef editorial team will visit high quality restaurants — including seafood restaurants — and traditional taverns in order to inform French readers on the variety of food choices that visitors have when in Greece. “This is an important promotional event of our country’s gastronomy tourism as those involved with MasterChef’s publication are especially renowned and also opinion leaders in worldwide gastronomy”, the GNTO said. The fam trip falls under the Tourism Ministry’s strategic communication plan, which aims to extend Greece’s tourism season through the promotion of alternative forms of tourism — such as Greek gastronomy — abroad.
