Both hotels operate throughout the year and join Spyrou Philoxenia after the recent addition of Kaimak Inn in Kaimaktsalan in Central Macedonia. “All hotel-members of Spyrou Philoxenia were shown and promoted at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2016 in London and showcased in a number of other international exhibitions”, said George Michalis, general director of Spyrou Hotels and Spyrou Philoxenia who participated in the trade show with John Grigoras, the company’s marketing manager. On his part, Spyrou Philoxenia’s project manager, Dimitrios Schistohilis, underlined that the company’s venture into Chania in Pelion reflects its commitment to championing Greece as a year-round holiday destination. “Breaking from the conventional ‘Sun and Sea’ experience, Chania truly has something unique to offer visitors throughout the year. Its location is also advantageous as it is very accessible from Athens as well as Thessaloniki and the mainland”, he said. Located on the mountainside at 1,200 meters and offering a stunning view of the Pagasitiko Bay, Chania Hotel has been hosting guests since 1992. The hotel is made up of 28 rooms, some of which with en-suite fireplaces, and also houses the traditional tavern To Hani tou Zafeiri, which has become a must in the area. Designed in harmonious balance between traditional and contemporary, Chania Palace is the new entry in the area and showcases the latest amenities. Both hotels are located about 3 km from the ski resort in Pelion and 9 km from Portaria, 11 km from Makrinitsa, and 22 km from Volos. Visitors to Pelion can enjoy the best in what Greece has to offer including traditional villages with their local architecture and style, lush green forests, quaint restaurants and taverns, honey and other fresh local produce, and local delicacies. Pelion also represents an ideal destination for nature lovers with the hotels located minutes away from the ski resort in Chania and other outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. In addition, Pelion also has its fair share of beautiful beaches which can be enjoyed in the summer time, making it truly a year-round destination. Currently operating seven properties on the island of Skopelos in addition to managing reservations and sales for additional properties there, Spyrou Philoxenia is expanding its roster with new partnerships throughout Greece.
