EMITT 2017: 60 Countries Already Applied for Foreign Buyers Delegation Program

Recognized as one of the top five tourism exhibitions in the world, the 21st International East Mediterranean Tourism and Travel Exhibition – EMITT will be held at Tuyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center between January 26 – 29, 2017.

Emitt 2017 LogoOrganized by EUF – E Uluslararası Fuarcılık, an affiliate of ITE Turkey, the organizer of leading exhibitions in the leading industries of Turkey, EMITT 2017 is expected to bring together 5,000 organizations and institutions from 80 countries. The exhibition will be held with corporate sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkish Republic, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Airlines, with support from KOSGEB and in partnership with Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED) and Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD).

EMITT 2017 will be featuring the Hosted Buyer Program, which is organized with the goal of providing new procurement, business development, business partnership and collaboration opportunities to sectors’ players at the international level. Already 60 countries including Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, South Africa, India, Spain, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Macedonia, Portugal, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Jordan and Greece have applied for the program.

ITE Turkey Tourism, Travel and Fashion Group Director Hacer Aydin stated that they’re quite happy with the great interest shown in the International Hosted Buyer program. The program this year will be held in partnership with TravelShop Turkey.

“Russia is among the countries that have shown the greatest interest and we expect the number of companies from Russia applying for the program to increase until the exhibition date”, Aydin said.

In addition, exhibition space sales continue in full throttle as well.

“EMITT is the biggest meeting point of not only Turkish tourism industry but also of the global tourism industry. In addition to being a commercial platform that brings together the professionals of the tourism industry, the exhibition is also the ultimate address for travel enthusiasts as well.”

The exhibition is expected to host 60.000 visitors this year.
