Etihad Airways Appoints Dimitrios Karagkioules as General Manager Greece and Turkey

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has appointed Dimitrios Karagkioules as General Manager Greece and Turkey.

Karagkioules brings more than 20 years’ commercial management experience gained at Etihad Airways, United and Delta Air Lines, to the role. During this time he held sales and marketing roles in Europe and Asia. He joined Etihad in 2009, as General Manager Greece and in 2015, was appointed as General Manager Thailand.

In his new role based in Athens, Karagkioules will take on the wider commercial responsibility for Greece and Turkey and will lead the further development of the airline’s commercial strategy and lead the growth of Etihad Airways’ relationships with its travel trade and corporate customers.

“Over the last seven years, he has acquired a wealth of experience and expertise both in Greece and Thailand”, Daniel Barranger, Etihad Airways’ Senior Vice President Global Sales, said.

“We are delighted that Dimitris will take up his new role to lead Etihad Airways’ commercial activities across the region as we look to expand our sales operations.”
