Qatar’s flag carrier, which operates three daily direct flights from Athens to Hamad International Airport in Doha, and onwards to more than 150 global locations, took part with its own stand, which was awarded by the Philoxenia organization committee for Outstanding Participation. Airline representatives had the chance to hold meetings with local institutions and travel market professionals, as well as with local media. “We are very pleased with our participation at the 32nd Philoxenia exhibition. Our meetings with local bodies and representatives of the tourism sector were especially productive and efficient for our company and contributed to the boosting of our efforts to further evolve and promote our strategic plans in the Greek market for 2017 destinations,” said Theresa Cissell, Qatar Airways country manager for Greece & Cyprus. “Greece is an important market for our business and this exhibition was an excellent opportunity to strengthen further this long-standing relation and show our vote of confidence in the region.” Among the visitors to Qatar Airways stand at Philoxenia were Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris, and TIF Helexpo President Tasos Tzikas, among others. Qatar Airways was the official air carrier of this year’s Philoxenia. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
