Buses and trolleys will operate only 9am-9pm and the metro, the electric railway (ISAP) and the tram will operate from 10 am until 4pm. Ferry boats in Greece will also not be in service on Thursday as the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) has announced a 24-hour strike in all ship categories. Thessaloniki will have no public transport as the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH) is also striking for 24 hours. In an announcement, GSEE (General Confederation of Workers of Greece) said that it is protesting against the ongoing austerity policies of poverty, while workers are up against the unreasonable demands of Greece’s lenders and painful government decisions that are directly targeting their labor rights. ADEDY (Civil Servants Supreme Administrative Council) said it is protesting against the government which, in full agreement with lenders, SEV and other employers’ bodies, is preparing a new round of anti-worker measures. The rally to be held in Athens will begin at the Pedion tou Areos Square at 11 am. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
