Travelife Appoints Thomas Cook’s Peter Grandell to the Board

Grandell is Director of Operations for Hotel & Resorts at Thomas Cook including the hotel brands: Sunwing, SunConnect, Sunprime, Smartline and Sentido. A position he has held for the past 3 years.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Peter to our board of directors, his wealth of industry experience and proven commitment to sustainable tourism, will add a new dimension to the Travelife Board”, Nikki White, Managing Director of Travelife, said.

Grandell’s appointment to the Travelife board highlights Thomas Cook’s strong commitment to Travelife, and emphasises the growing importance of Travelife certification globally.

Commenting on his appointment Grandell said: ‘Travelife is the leading sustainable certification scheme, and a key tool for businesses implementing sustainability initiatives in hotels and accommodation globally, creating a force for change. As Thomas Cook looks at how we can re-focus our sustainability strategy in 2017, I am delighted to be invited to join the Board of Directors and look forward to using this opportunity to reenergise Thomas Cook’s engagement with this vital scheme.
