Committed to the preservation of the environment and sustainable growth, the Sani Resort in the Halkidiki peninsula announced that it has enhanced its ongoing sustainability program with additional actions and initiatives that include energy and water savings, reducing waste and chemicals, improving hotel supply initiatives, protecting local biodiversity, supporting the local community and improving the working environment.

‘’The company’s corporate social responsibility program focuses on sustainability in its broadest sense, including environmental actions and initiatives involving both the local community and our workforce,’’ said Helen Andreadis, CSR & Sustainability director for Sani Resort.

Indicatively, Sani Resort managed to achieve a recycling rate of 43 percent in 2015, compared with 35 percent in 2014, and decrease water consumption by 7 percent while using primarily locally produced products strengthening in this way its links with the local community.

Other initiatives include Sani Animal Rescue and its Eco Day festivals. Sani Resort initiatives have won it several awards and distinctions including an ISO 14001 certification, a Travelife gold award as well as a Green Key.

“It is of major importance for a hotel group to tap into the needs of the local community and the environment and to act on their behalf and in their best interest,’’ Andreadis added.
