Photo credit: Region of Attica Athens is among the 17 best places to visit in the world in 2017, according to renowned US magazine Conde Nast Traveller. Conde Nast Traveller notes that Athens is not only a historical city, but is now emerging as a capital of modern art, thanks to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre and Greece’s new National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST). The magazine notes that Athens is making a comeback, although in the recent past it had been overshadowed by other European capitals such as Rome.
