At the invitation of the Tunisian Tourism Minister Selma Elloumi Rekik, Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura will carry out a visit to Tunisia in 2017. Greece and Tunisia have signed a tourism cooperation agreement, which among other things, includes the organization of the 3rd Session of the Joint Committee on tourism. The session will be scheduled to coincide with Minister Kountoura’s visit to the country. Minister Kountoura agreed to visit Tunisia during her recent meeting in Athens with the Ambassador of Tunisia to Greece, Dr. Lassaad Mhirsi, who extended the invitation on behalf of the Tunisian Minister for her to make an official visit. During the meeting, the Ambassador of Tunisia also requested for Greece to share its expertise with Tunisia on issues regarding the training of human resources in the tourism sector. Kountoura also met with the Ambassador of Turkey to Greece, Yasar Halit Cevik, with whom she discussed issues of bilateral tourism relations.
