Kavala, Greece.

Kavala, Greece.

Data regarding five Greek airports are placing Greece among the top 10 emerging destinations for German travelers, according to German daily Die Welt, which cites Traveltainment Market Analytics figures.

Die Welt cites ”political stability’’ as the major winning factor placing the country’s destinations at the top of German traveler choices.

The official data is set to be presented at this year’s ITB Berlin 2017 to take place on March 8-12 at Messe Berlin.

According to the findings, Greece is a leading choice of German travelers for the summer of 2017 as assessed by Traveltainment Market Analytics in collaboration with search engine Booking Engine over the November 1-January 9 period for bookings made for the May-October period.

The predictions are based on increased traffic from Germany to the following Greek airports: Heraklion, Crete up by 72 percent compared to the previous year; Rhodes by 81 percent; Thessaloniki by 83 percent, Kavala by 68 percent and Kos by 192 percent.
