Manessis Travel made many children smile during the company’s recent 29th Greek New Year’s cake (Vasilopita) cutting ceremony that took place on the premises of the “Ark of the World” (Kivotos tou Kosmou), a Greek NGO that takes care of children in need.

The renowned travel agency made a very generous donation to the Ark of the World following a holiday campaign through which 1 euro from each traveler that booked a Manessis holiday package went to support the work of the NGO.

“For us, imagination is a source of life and a passage to freedom. Humanism is an essential value if we want to live in a brighter world”, said Andreas Manessis, founder of the company and head of the campaign.

One of the lucky coins of the New Year’s cake was retrieved by 14-year-old Dimitris, a child from the Ark, who was then given a gift certificate for toys by Manessis.

“The joy of those who give, is greater than the joy of those who receive a gift and all of Manessis’ partners and travelers feel this”, said Angelos Lambrou, president and CEO of Manessis.

The Ark of the World was founded by Father Antonios in 1998 and takes care of children that have been experiencing abandonment, racism and social exclusion.
