Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has an air show and public events lined up for the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships 2017, which will be held in St. Moritz during February 6 to 19. SWISS is the official airline of the event.

The airline will run contests for fans with prizes of tickets for the event and SWISS flight vouchers. SWISS’s crews will also be on hand to accompany the victory ceremonies in the finish area and look after all the competitors in the special SWISS Athletes Lounge.

Air show with the world-first Bombardier C Series

The off-piste highlight during the Championships is sure to be the air shows jointly conducted by SWISS and the Patrouille Suisse, the Swiss Air Force’s air display team. Every day from February 9 to 12, just before the blue-riband downhill events, SWISS and the Patrouille Suisse will impress the crowds with a spectacular air show.

The displays, in the setting of the Engadine, will feature SWISS’s new Bombardier C Series, the most advanced and innovative short- and medium-haul aircraft in the world.

On Sunday, February 12, the SWISS cockpit crew performing the display will also appear on stage at the Medal Plaza together with their pilot colleagues from the Patrouille Suisse.

SWISS will even be hitting some musical notes, too. The SWISS Pilot Combo, which consists of twelve current SWISS pilots, will be playing in Kulm Park, the heart of the event, on Saturday, February 11.

Younger guests will also find a host of fun things to see and do in the SWISS Kids Igloo in Salastrains.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, February 18, the airline will take 150 lucky guests on a spectacular sightseeing flight over the Engadine aboard its Airbus A321 HB-IOC, which is named “St. Moritz”. The flight will be accompanied by Ochsner Sport athlete Niels Hintermann, the Swiss skier who triumphed in the Men’s Alpine Combined event at last month’s International Lauberhorn Ski Races.
