Company updates Aegean Flights to Connect Tel Aviv with Thessaloniki in May by GTP editing team 9 February 2017 written by GTP editing team 9 February 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 10 Greek national carrier Aegean announced the launch in May of direct flights from Tel Aviv to Thessaloniki during a Cities Diplomacy event held in the Israeli city this week to promote the northern port city as a prime tourism destination. Aegean will operate three flights per week as of May 29 and through October 15. “This link will greatly increase the tourist flow to the city,” said Thessaloniki Deputy Mayor for Tourism and International Relations Spiros Pengas, adding that the public welcomed the new flights which are also affordable. Meanwhile, Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris also expressed his satisfaction with the decision adding that it further strengthens the ties between the two countries and their collaboration in a number of sectors. Boutaris went on to refer to the significance for the city of the Holocaust Museum and Education Center for Human Rights set to be completed by 2020.
