The destination is now even more accessible with the British Airways and Easyjet weekly direct flights to Kalamata, from April until October. The 2017 season commences for Costa Navarino with the inaugural Messinia Pro-Am taking place February 21-24. The golf tournament will bring together amateur and professional players from around the world, with the action taking centre stage on Costa Navarino’s two signature designed golf courses: The Dunes Course and The Bay Course, recently awarded by the IAGTO Awards as 2017 European Golf Resort of the Year. A destination for all Set on a background with a historical legacy of 4,500 years, Costa Navarino is an unspoilt seaside landscape with mild-temperatures and a range of family and authentic experiences. Renowned as a family destination, Costa Navarino has announced new programs for the adventurous youth. The “Young Archeologists in Action” and the “Young Gardeners” programs highlight a family’s stay. Children get the chance to dig and discover the historical secrets and antiquities; plant their own seeds and bring their own seasonal fruits and vegetables from the farm to the table. Authentic cultural experiences, ranging from a philosophical walk led by a local Professor under a century-old olive tree to an olive oil tasting session and a cooking class with two local women, will take guests on a journey back in time. While on the go, sports-lovers can explore the beautiful coastline with a luxury yacht, cycle amongst the olive groves or even dive beneath the Mediterranean waves. For relaxation, Costa Navarino offers a transforming experience at Anazoe Spa that carries out techniques based on the ancient Greek traditions and practices that aim to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul, utilising the region’s exclusive natural and revitalising ingredients. Culinary enthusiasts can experience the all-encompassing health benefits of the Mediterranean diet at Costa Navarino. The destination hosts 21 food venues to choose from, mainly using local products, time-honored techniques and recipes passed down through the generations. Central to the gastronomical experience is the use of the Navarino Icons’ Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), recently named after the EVOO of the Year 2016 in the World Ranking for Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
