Company updates Aegean Launches Direct Athens-Kassel Flights, Supports documenta 14 Art Show by GTP editing team 30 March 2017 written by GTP editing team 30 March 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 17 As first official airline partner of the documenta 14 art show, Aegean Airlines has added two direct flights per week between Athens and Kassel. documenta, the prestigious contemporary art show held in Kassel, Germany, since 1955, will run under a twofold structure for its 14th edition, taking place not only in Kassel but also at “several distinctive venues” in Athens. With the launch of the new route, AEGEAN aims to to join the two cities, facilitate travel for d14’s visitors and make this experience more accessible to the public. “AEGEAN will link the two destinations by including Kassel in its international network, thus making a significant contribution to putting Athens on the map of the international cultural scene,” the airline said in an announcement. documenta 14, titled “Learning from Athens”, will be held in the Greek capital from April 8 until July 16 and in Kassel from June 10 to September 17. The event is expected to attract worldwide interest as it will create an open dialectical relationship between the two cities, thus bringing global cultural and sociological issues to the forefront through art. As the official airline partner of documenta 14 and through its new flights, AEGEAN is expected to fly some 1,500 international media representatives to attend the exhibition opening in Athens and more than 8,500 visitors to the Greek capital throughout the duration of the exhibition. Moreover, through a series of selected actions, AEGEAN will give the broader public the opportunity to become acquainted with documenta 14 and the events it includes through interactive experiences.
