Upon the initiative of the Aegialis Hotel & Spa and the Women’s Cultural Association of Tholaria – Aegiali, 20 yoga teachers have been invited to share their knowledge and present the latest news on yoga, while more than 100 yoga professionals and students are expected to attend from all over the world (UK, Scandinavia, Island, Russia, Italy, France, South Africa and Greece among other countries). The Convention’s main objectives are the exchange of ideas, practices and experiences and the establishment of new collaborations that would help improve yoga techniques and achieve soul serenity, thus improve the quality of life. Furthermore organizers aim at extending the tourism season on the island of Amorgos by promoting alternative forms of tourism. Due to its unique natural environment and location in the eastern Aegean, Amorgos is considered the ideal destination for yoga enthusiasts. According to the organizers the island is well known for its strong magnetic field and the variety of therapeutic herbs. Often called “the pearl of the Aegean”, Amorgos offers the perfect setting to escape from routine being one of the most popular destinations in Greece.
